The Privileges Associated with the Word of God

Psalm 19:7

There is no better way to appreciate the privileges associated with having been given the very words of God than to hear Scripture's own testimony.

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Converted

"The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple" (Psalm 19:7).

"Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever" (1 Peter 1:23).

"Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures" (James 1:18).

"And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:30-31).

"And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus"(2 Timothy 3:15).

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Convicted

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Cleansed

"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17).

"How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word" (Psalm 119:9).

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Comforted

"For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope" (Romans 15:4).

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Counseled

"The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes" (Psalm 19:7-8).

It Is Through the Word of God that We Are Corrected

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
