Judah's Plea

Genesis 44:18-34

Judah's plea is a very moving passage within Scripture. It demonstrates God's wisdom in moving the messianic line move from Jacob through his fourth son, Judah.

The way Judah advocated for his brothers before Joseph is a picture of how we should intercede for our brothers and sisters.

  1. He showed reverence for Joseph's position (44:18).
  2. He reviewed Joseph's proposal (44:19–23).
  3. He restated the problem (44:24–29).
  4. He asked for mercy (44:30 –32).
  5. He was willing to put his own life at risk (44:33, 34).
