The title of "saint" for believers is one of Paul's favorite titles and it shows the deep commitment that Paul attached to a believer's life. This phrase demonstrates the value that God places on His people. They are His saints. When Paul asks the church to assist Phoebe in whatever way she needs to be assisted, he is simply saying that he wants Phoebe to have the kind of welcome that is appropriate for saints to give or the welcome that his fitting for saints to receive. The apostle wants her to be surrounded by the love of Christ. The believers in Rome are asked to become her servants and to help her in any way they can.
They are encouraged to stand by her in whatever manner she may need them to. Those who have traveled extensively know what a blessing it is to be in the fellowship of the church and find helpful brothers and sisters in all parts of the world.
