Leviticus 23:1ff

The Bible has seven feasts of Yahweh, seven sayings from the cross, and seven secrets in the kingdom parables (Matthew 13). Why is this number important? Seven is the biblical number of completeness (taken from the seven days of Gen. 1:1—2:3). It is the number that says something is finished or full. Even the seven churches in Revelation (1:4) are listed, not because they are the only churches involved but because they are representative of all the churches. They represent the fullness of the message to local churches both in that time and in our time.
