Divine Appointments

Deuteronomy 32:7-12

When a believer faces difficulties in life, there is a perspective one may choose to adopt that can change things: attempt to view difficulties as divine appointments. There are numerous passages in both Testaments, such as Deuteronomy 32:7–12, in which God reminds His people of His ongoing mercy. God may use a difficulty in one's life as a divine appointmentβ€”an opportunity for a display of His mercy, kindness and grace. Some passages in Hebrew Scripture were particularly reassuring to Hebrew people of faith of the LORD's great faithfulness to them (Zech. 2:8; Isa. 43:4; Ps. 18:37–42). New Testament texts make reassuring promises to believers today (Phil. 4:19; 2 Thess. 2:16, 17).

God sees every one of our difficulties. With His constant presence, promises, and comfort, we can endure the toughest obstacles in life.
