Why Study Prophecy?

Those who are committed to the exposition of Scripture really have no choice. The Bible is one-fifth prophecy. Of the one-fifth that is prophetic, one-third concerns the second coming of Jesus Christ and the events that surround His return.

Next to faith, no subject in the Bible is discussed more than the second coming of Jesus Christ. For every reference to His first coming, His second advent is mentioned eight times. For every reference to atonement, the Second Coming is mentioned twice. The Lord Himself refers to His second coming 21 times. And more than 50 times in the NT, we are told to be ready for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
